Junior Level Technician

Duites
  • Work with customers via remote login to fix basic PC problems
  • Train under lead technician to troubleshoot networking and system problems
  • Trouble shoot Windows or MAC desktop system errors
  • Maintain an increased awareness of technical expertise in current PC Hardware/software systems.
  • Set-up and install new PC hardware/software.
  • Provide training in PC system software.
  • Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of new PC hardware/software.
  • Maintain and upgrade existing PC software packages.
  • Provide technical assistance to PC users.
  • Develop procedures/batch files/macros as required in support of PC application systems.
  • Develop procedures for extracting and transferring data from the server.
  • Establish and maintain documentation for PC personnel.
  • To maintain and organize the lab/shop.
  • Other duties as assigned
Purpose
  • To assist the Owner and Supervisor with all the duties to complete tasks in an appropriate time frame.
  • To improve customer service and response time because of a growing customer base.
Qualifications
  • A background experience in PC computer systems is required.
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge/experience in PC hardware and software systems.
  • Be able to read and understand technical and non-technical documents related to the business.
  • Have the technical capabilities to support customers in both PC and Mac environments.
  • Have the capability to support any size of TCP/IP Networking environment.
  • Be able to troubleshoot any PC problem.
  • Team player/ customer oriented.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be willing to travel outside the boundaries of San Benito County.
  • To complete any certifications that is needed or required within 90 days of employment.
  • Valid California Driver’s License – NO EXCEPTIONS
Expectations after 90 days
  • Able to troubleshoot basic TCP/IP routed network errors – Wired and Wireless
  • Able to troubleshoot Windows XP, 2000, ME, and 98 errors
  • Able to troubleshoot PC based hardware errors
  • Able to troubleshoot MAC OS X errors
  • CompTIA A+ and Network+ Certified
  • Expert level virus and spyware removal
  • In depth understanding of cable types and the ability to create networking, serial, or parallel cable on the fly.
